Pc power supply powering car amplifier in home
Features one channel and two inputs; volume, bright, treble, treble expander, bass, bass expander, bright switch, deep switch, stand-by switch, pilot light for stand-by and operate. This amp was built to play larger halls and outdoor concerts. The lack of reverb was not a big issue as most live performances had acoustics full of reverberation halls, arenas. Peter Traynor built these things to stand up to road abuse, unlike a lot of vintage stuff. It sounds great with either bass and guitar, providing a clean and loud tone. Works great in large club settings. Front panel has two input jacks, controls for treble boost, volume, treble expander, treble, bass expander, bass, presence, and bass boost. There is also a standby switch and corresponding green and red pilot lights.
If you have two amps fused together how do you connect a capacitor to them?

Looking through the Internet you can mostly observe watered down information, something like bla bla bla, but not here to my deep surprise.

Tue Jul 10, In the Example of a fuel cell circuit of FIG. The core is 1. A primary coil of turns of 24 gauge copper wire is provided and coil of turns of 36 gauge wire comprises the secondary winding. In the circuit of FIG 1, the diode is a 1N diode which acts as a blocking diode and an electric switch that allows voltage flow in one direction only.
Thus, the capacitor is never subjected to a pulse of reverse polarity. The toroidal pulsing coil provides a voltage step-up from the pulse generator in excess of five times, although the relative amount of step-up is determined by preselected criteria for a particular application. As the stepped-up pulse enters first inductor formed from turns of 24 gauge wire 1 inch in diameter , an electromagnetic field is formed around the inductor, voltage is switched off when the pulse ends, and the field collapses and produces another pulse of the same polarity i.
Thus, a double pulse frequency is produced; however, in pulse train of unipolar pulses, there is a brief time when pulses are not present. By being so subjected to electrical pulses in the circuit of FIG. Voltage continually increases to about volts and more and the water molecules starts to elongate. The pulse train is then switched off; the voltage across the water capacitor drops to the amount of the charge that the water molecules have taken on, i.
The pulse train is the reapplied from:

The following schematic shows how these old ground switches are wired. The ground switch puts a capacitor in between the amp’s metal chassis and one side of the AC power cord. The capacitor is there to help filter out buzz caused by noise on the AC line. But in one position of the ground switch, the capacitor sits between the hot side of your house wiring and the amp’s chassis!

During the last 20 years, three basic battery rapid test methods have emerged: All methods are resistance based, a characteristic that reveals the battery’s ability to deliver load current. Internal resistance provides useful information in detecting problems and indicating when a battery should be replaced. Neither does resistance alone provide a linear correlation to the battery’s capacity.
Rather, the increase of cell resistance relates to aging. Manufacturing process and materials used contribute to the discrepancies. Rather than relying on an absolute resistance reading, service technicians are asked to take a snapshot of the cell resistances when the battery is installed and then measure the subtle changes as the cells age.

How does a Supercapacitor Work? Discover how the supercapacitor can enhance the battery. The supercapacitor, also known as ultracapacitor or double-layer capacitor, differs from a regular capacitor in that it has very high capacitance. A capacitor stores energy by means of a static charge as opposed to an electrochemical reaction. Applying a voltage differential on the positive and negative plates charges the capacitor.
This is similar to the buildup of electrical charge when walking on a carpet.
You need to ground your battery:) To reinforce other comments, I’d ground each amp to the shortest patch to ground, preferably with a single bolt through the cap and both amp’s ground ring terminal. It’s called a star grounding method and gives everything the shortest possible path to ground.
First before we get started lets get answers to a few questions about these little buggers. What is a tone cap and how does it work? How will different values affect the sound of my guitar? What do the pots have to do with the tone caps? These are some good questions and the answers will help you select values and give an idea of how they will affect the overall tone of your guitar before you start to solder.
A tone cap capacitor is a passive electronic component that stores energy in the form of an electrostatic field. In its simplest form, a capacitor consists of two conducting plates separated by an insulating material called the dielectric. The dielectric is non-conductive and can be made form various materials such as paper or plastic among others. The capacitance is directly proportional to the surface areas of the plates, and is inversely proportional to the separation between the plates.
Capacitance also depends on the dielectric constant of the substance separating the plates. So what does this mean to a guitar player? The most important thing to know as a guitar player is that different value tone caps are going to affect different frequencies.
Build Your Own Negative Voltage Generator
Basic Information How long does it to ship my capacitor? Same day shipping on most stock items. What is a start capacitor used for? A start capacitor is used to briefly shift phase on a start winding in a single phase electric motor to create an increase increase in torque. Start capacitors possess a very large capacitance value for their size and voltage rating, and as a result, are only intended for intermittent duty.
Wiring in one amplifier can be complicated enough, especially when you’re dealing with a factory car stereo, and the situation just gets more complex when you add multiple amplifiers to the equation. You can wire two amplifiers, or even multiple amps, in one car audio system, but it takes some extra.
So it is floating. Each voltage follower just follows the voltage on each individual plate. I guess the circuit works. I found some wire problems and fixing that seemed to fix the problem with not showing the correct battery voltage. I think the problem with the op amp not gong to zero is based on an offset voltage. There is some error involved in each op amp.
They give a plus and minus for the offset voltage in the specs. When I introduced a negative voltage it cycled all the way through negative and ended at the positive 9mV and the other one at the 16mV. I guess that solves my problem afterall. For the ground voltage on the op amps power supply I have them connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Since my measurement is just the difference between the 2 op amps it seems to work.
Hook Up Two Amps One Capacitor
How do you hook up a 1 farad capacitor to your amp? Answer 1 You first have to determine which side of the cap is positive andwhich side is negative. You run a wire from the negative side tothe chassis and for the positive side you run a cable from thebattery to the terminal and from the terminal to the amp. Be careful not to mix up positive and negative on the capbecause it could explode and cause damage.
We have four questions that mainly relate to power capacitors and multiple amp systems (two topics). Q1: “Is there any trick to wiring TWO amps to one capacitor” A1: .
Fresno, California kevintomb said: I own an older HK i from that period, and it sounds quite good, but in all honesty havent compared it head to head with much better stuff although ive heard better stuff but it seemed quite listenable and relatively detailed and with good extension etc. How does my antique compare to the slightly older HK stuff from the 70s?
I heard it many years ago but all I can remember was that I thought it was a bit more cloudy or slightly less revealing sounding, listening to Supertramp “Crime of the century” All I remember was the early 80s HK phono section seemed a bit more open and airy, but thats going from 30 year old memories. The later HK gear sounds more “transistory”, for want of a better word. I’m sure someone getting into “objective” theory would point out that electronic devices have no sound of their own and in the most literal sense, that is true.
However, in the subjective world there is consensus that the sonic characteristics of transistor gear tend to render “hard” sounds with more edge definition than tube gear, tube gear tends to get musical long lines better and often fudges details at frequency extremes. Exposure to the high end gives us stellar sonic results using both topologies. In general, if you want more power and more bass, transistors will get you further.
If unamplified, acoustic music is more your thing than there’s a good chance that tube gear will be more satisfying. But to get back to your original question. I suppose working in record stores and being genuinely obsessed with recorded music I managed to hear a lot of stereos starting back in the seventies up through the present.
